My new toy "White Super Lock 534"

I finally got my new toy "White Super Lock 534".  I have been thinking to make some baby clothes and diaper to sell, but I hate that the seams look so unprofessional, I really wanted to have a serger.  I have been looking for serger for a while, I planned to get a vintage serger, coz I have more confident in the quality, just like my old Singer sewing machine 15-91, it was made in 1949.  But I love it.

I looked at Craiglist and Ebay, my budget is $75 (after shipping), I found several vintage sergers like Juki, White, Singer etc.  Of course, I lost the auctions.  But then 2 days ago, my hubby told me that he found one serger for sale in Craglist and it is White 534 and for $75.  So we called the lady immediately, and my hubby picked it up yesterday on the way home from work.  I am very excited about my new toy, I don't know much about sergers, I don't even have threads to test the machine now.  I requested some books from library.  So I can learn more about how to use the sergers and what can I do with sergers except hemming.  Tomorrow we will go to JoAnn to get some threads and some Simplicity Patterns (they are on sale now 5 for $5).

  1. Hi, I know it has been two years, but I just found your blog on the White serger. I was looking for parts for my Jaguar Lock M-34, which is exactly the same model as your White Super Lock 534. One of my tension dials is damaged and I am looking for parts to replace it. Any way, I hope you had a wonderful time with the machine. It serges beautifully, and mine had been with me for more than 20 years before the dial came off. Could you update on your serger please?
