The Best Trinsies I ever made

I think this is the best trimsies I made.

Because my vintage Singer doesn't have zigzag, so I have been tacked both end of leg elastics. For some reason, my side seams are always off, they look ugly.

This time I did it on my own way, I sewed the top of inner and outer fabrics together first, then I sewed the side seams, after then I sewed the legs, rolled in 1/4" and topstitch it. Sewed 1/2" from the topstitch I did and insert elastic.

Now my side seams and leg openings are beautiful!!

The Green Chick is Size M, and the Robot is Size S.

Trimsies Trainer Again!!

If you read my blog, you probably will say "Trainer again!!!!". I know it starts to get boring, I post trainer pics every week. But I tried to keep the trainers in different fabrics to keep it interesting. :)

This week I am going to start Lukie's Halloween costume, hope I could make it by Halloween.

After that, I will sew something for myself. I am not going to tell you what is it, it is a surprise!

Prefold Belt and Matching Diaper Set for Elimination Communication (EC)

Since the Prefold Belt works great, I decide to make more.  But I don't like how bulky the prefold, so I sew some trimmer diaper for it, there are elastics on both legs, so it will be more fitted.  I used the same fabrics as the belt, make it matching set.  After I test it, and if it works great, I will offer the matching set at my ETSY and Artfire stores.  Meanwhile, the prefold belts will be available for sale by next week.

Another Trimsies Pull Up Trainer

Just sewed another Trimsies Pull Up Trainer, this one took less time to sew, I think because I used "stretch" needle instead "universal", I didn't know anything about needles until I read some blogs about sewing knits.  The trainer looks much better than last one.  But it is still not perfect, I still have hard time to sew the rib knit, it stretches a lot, I used the longest stitch on my sewing machine and I didn't pull the fabrics, I guess I just need more practices.

Elimination Communication: Trimsies Pull Up Trainer

We bought Lukie an environmental friendly potty which is made of bamboo, after you are done, you can dig it to your yard, and it is biodegradable.  We started Elimination Communication, we are able to catch up poop in the potty twice.  YEAH!!!  We are so proud of him.  He is only 8-month old.  But then I found a big problem, it is his diapers.  It took forever to take off, I always thought we were going to miss it by the time his diaper was off.  So I think it is time to sew him some trainers.

I was looking around several trainer patterns, some people recommend Tinkle Time Trainer (TTT) and Trimsies Trainer.  But most people said TTT is more time-consuming to sew and more difficult, and Trimsies is very easy and quick.  Plus I am testing a Trainer Pattern for a lady which her style reminds me TTT.  So I decide to try Trimsie.  It is very simple pattern if I have a zigzag on my vintage Singer.  However, I don't.  It is do-able with straight stitch machine, but it requires more time and it becomes more difficult, or I should require more sewing skills.  I finished one, I used OBV as inner, PUL as outer and Knit as Side Panel.  It is very difficult to sew OBV and knit.

It turns out really cute, but not the sewing part.  I love how it fits Lukie.   I am in the process of the 2nd trainer, but I am getting a little discourage, I had to stop, so tomorrow I am going to get my CHEAP CRAPPY Kenmore from my garage.  Coz it has zigzag, hopefully, it will make my job easier.  But Man, I hate that machine, I remember how frustrated when I sewed with it long time ago.

Malden Mills Fleece Diaper Cover

I bought those Malden Mills Fleece about a month ago, finally, I have time to sew a diaper cover with it.  It is really good quality, so soft and thick.  Now I feel the fleece I bought from JoAnn are crap!!!!!

The covers with it are more professional looking and feels like bullet proof.  It should last forever.

I bought 7 yds, so I plan to sew some pants and jacket for Lukie.

If you want to try Malden Mills Fleece, you can go to:

I offer diaper cut.

Diaper Cover

I haven't sewed for a while, coz Lukie has to take a nap with me, if I left the bed, he would wake up in 30 mins.  So I have been crocheted a lot, since I can crochet on the bed.  Finally, yesterday, he fell asleep in the swing.  I was able to sew 2 diaper covers.

More Crochet Soakers!! Little Fire Crochet Pants!!

I crocheted 2 more crochets for Lukie, the blue one is as same as the green one I did.  This time I used Stitch Nation 100% wool, love the color selections of this line, easy to work with.  However, after Lukie wore it once, it becomes very fuzzy!!

And the 2nd one is new style "Little Fire Crochet Pants", it is more like a shorts, the pattern is to make long pants, but I think it is too hot for that.  I made it shorter, it looks super adorable.   I used Lion Brand Fisherman Wool, love the color, but it is not as soft as Patons, I am not sure that I love it or not.

Official Addicted to Cloth Diaper Making!!

I am official addicted to cloth diaper making, I just made few more diaper covers, soakers and pocket diaper (first time).  I haven't taken any pics of the soakers and pocket diaper.  But I did take pics of the diaper cover.

I got the pattern from Cloth Revolution, it is free, and the instructions is very detailed.  I really love the pattern, it fits very well.  I used fleece as outer fabrics and PUL as inner fabrics.  Works great!

Star Trek Woolie Soaker

Star Trek soaker for Lukie.  First I crocheted this soaker, I didn't plan to do Star Trek, I found the red yarn from my stash.  After I finished the main body, it looked too girly for him.  Then my husband was watching Star Trek, it inspired me to make it Star Trek Soaker.

And this soaker makes it to GeekCrafts.com.

Another Katrina's Sew Easy Soaker

I just sewed another Katrina's Sew Easy Soaker 2 days ago, I bought some Blazzard Fleece from JoAnn, it was 50% off.  It turns out very cute, but I don't think the fleece is the right type of fleece, it seems too thin.  And I ordered some Malden Mills Fleece, it is waterproof, and everyone recommended it, I can't wait to get it.

First Fleece Soaker from recyling my old PJ

Today I sew a Fleece Soaker for Lukie, I recycled my old PJ which I don't wear anymore.  It turns very good, but a little bit small.  Then I looked back what did I do wrong, I found out I made a stupid mistake.  When I printed the pattern, I didn't pay attention to the scale, it wasn't 100%, it printed 80%.  I just reprinted the pattern, will try again tomorrow.

here is the pattern:
Katrina's Sew Quick Soaker Pattern

But I love the pattern, it is super easy and fast.  And it looks great!!  I know Santa Soaker, but this is only fleece garment that I have at home.
