Sizzix Dies and Embossing Folders Clearance at JoAnn!!

I am new to Die Cutting!  I want to get a die cutting machine for a while, I mainly want it for cutting fabrics.  I am not really into paper crafting.  After all the research I did, I decided to get Sizzix Big Shot or Big Kick.  I just waited for it on sale.  Anyway, I found Big Kick on sale at JoAnn.  It is only $49.99.  But my local JoAnn is out of stock.  So I ordered it on JoAnn.com.

Since I ordered my Big Kick, I started to look for Sizzix Dies.  And I found JoAnn are clearance some of Tom Holtz Dies and the other lines of dies, embossing folders as well.

Sizzix Tom Holtz Dies are $4.97 each, Hero Arts Stamp and Dies Set is $5.xx (Don't remember exact price), the other dies are $3.97 each.  Embossing folders are $2.97 each.

Let's see what I got!!

Not all the JoAnn clearance out Sizzix Tom Holtz Dies.  My closest JoAnn sell the same dies, but at the regular price.  In order to buy the clearance dies, I went to the other JoAnn which are 30 and 45 mins away from my house.  But I think it is worth it.  Because it is like 75% off.

I can't test out these dies yet.  Because I am still waiting for my Big Kick.  I really don't recommend to order from JoAnn.com.  It takes forever for them to ship.  It has been 3 business days.  Finally they shipped out my order.  Amazon has Big Kick for $57 or so, but I tried to save money, so I decided to order from JoAnn.com instead.  I have prime membership with Amazon, I got free 2-days shipping.  If I ordered from them, I would get my Big Kick yesterday.

I can't wait to play with all these dies, I have a lot of ideas for my coming projects.  Hopefully I would receive my Big Kick by the end of this week.

Fabrics Shopping!

Today I go to fabrics shopping with Lukie. I found some cute fabrics that I really like at Chez Ami website, then I found out that they are Patsy Aiken which is a mile away from my house, and they have a attic sales from today to next Thursday (not sure). So today I go there, some fabrics I like, they don't have, but some fabrics are not on sale on the website, but they are on sale in the outlet. I bought a very cute doggie print jersey for $5 a yard, but you have to buy minimum 2 yds. On their website, it is $11 a yard. And I got some rib knit and stripe jersey for $3.50 a yard.

After Chez Ami, we went to JoAnn, I bought some really cute flannels, they are half off, only $2.99 a yard.

I buy too many fabrics recently, I better start to sew!!! Too many fabrics, too little time!! hahaha....

This is the doggie Jersey I buy at Chez Ami.

The other two from Chez Ami, the look better in person than the pic.

Another Katrina's Sew Easy Soaker

I just sewed another Katrina's Sew Easy Soaker 2 days ago, I bought some Blazzard Fleece from JoAnn, it was 50% off.  It turns out very cute, but I don't think the fleece is the right type of fleece, it seems too thin.  And I ordered some Malden Mills Fleece, it is waterproof, and everyone recommended it, I can't wait to get it.

My new toy "White Super Lock 534"

I finally got my new toy "White Super Lock 534".  I have been thinking to make some baby clothes and diaper to sell, but I hate that the seams look so unprofessional, I really wanted to have a serger.  I have been looking for serger for a while, I planned to get a vintage serger, coz I have more confident in the quality, just like my old Singer sewing machine 15-91, it was made in 1949.  But I love it.

I looked at Craiglist and Ebay, my budget is $75 (after shipping), I found several vintage sergers like Juki, White, Singer etc.  Of course, I lost the auctions.  But then 2 days ago, my hubby told me that he found one serger for sale in Craglist and it is White 534 and for $75.  So we called the lady immediately, and my hubby picked it up yesterday on the way home from work.  I am very excited about my new toy, I don't know much about sergers, I don't even have threads to test the machine now.  I requested some books from library.  So I can learn more about how to use the sergers and what can I do with sergers except hemming.  Tomorrow we will go to JoAnn to get some threads and some Simplicity Patterns (they are on sale now 5 for $5).
