I got my Vintage Singer Zigzagger! Big Disappointment!

I got my Singer Zigzagger yesterday, I am very very disappointed about this attachment.  I tested on different fabrics, changed different tensions, played around with the setting.  But the results are the same, the stitches are way too inconstant.  Sometimes it looks perfect, then suddenly it looks very crappy.

I should read more before I bought it.  After I won the auction, I read my vintage Singer Yahoo group, ppl complaining how crappy and useless of the Zigzagger.  :(   I may try to sell it at Ebay.

I won Vintage Singer Zigzagger 160985

I love my Singer 15-91, but I really need zigzag, coz I want to do FOE on my diapers and trainers, but I can't do it, because FOE requires zigzag.  So I have been looking for Singer Zigzagger on ebay and thrift stores.  I lost the bids on ebay every time, and I have no luck to find in thrift stores or flea markets.

And this afternoon, I finally won the ebay auction for the zigzagger.  YEAH!!!  I can't wait to get it and play with it.  It comes with 4 decorative stitches cams.  The best part is I only paid $3.75.  I hope the seller will ship it tomorrow, so I will get it by next Wednesday.

I am so excited!!!  I can't wait to sew!!!!

Here is the zigzagger I won:

Treasure at Thrift Store Part 2

This morning Lukie and I went Thrift Store shopping, I found some goodies for Lukie and myself. I bought a diaper cover (pull up style, which I plan to make) and few very thin cloth diapers at Goodwill, they seem to be brand new, never used. I plan to use the cloth diapers for cleaning or something else, they are too thin to use.

Then I found several vintage sewing books at Pet Retail. I am very excited when I saw the vintage sewing books, I just have a thing to vintage craft books, they are just soooo cool!! hehehe.. The books I bought are: McCall's Step by Step Sewing Book (1969), Simplicity Sewing Book (1967), Sewing for Men and Boys by Simplicity (1973) and Singer Manual for Model 634. The sewing books are 50 cent each, the manual is $2. I don't really sew garments, but I would love to do it one day. The books I got are very good book, they are heavy illustrated, very impressed!

My Vintage Sewing Machine: Singer 15-91

We bought this gorgeous vintage sewing machine last Sunday. It is Singer 15-91 made in 1949. Comes with original manual, accessories and cabinet. I paid $75, I think it is pretty good deal. So far I love the machine, I just need more time to get used to it. It is very powerful, much better than my Kenmore 15516.

We found the manual and vintage simplicity pattern behind the bottom drawer, I bet it is hidden for years. hehehe....

The pics are taken before we cleaned and oiled.

Sorry, I was unable to upload the pics on the blog.
